Neukölln's biggest post-industrial site is finally visible again.
The Vollgut-Areal, built on the defunct Kindl brewery grounds, is now the centerpiece of the district's long-term transformation—swapping industrial scrap for social, creative, and ecological uses [Quelle: visitBerlin]. The CRCLR-House, a showcase building on the site, models circular construction with recycled and ecological materials. New walking tours through Schillerkiez and Rollbergsiedlung now showcase the live projects, including converted cemetery land on Hermannstraße.

Churches add 100+ units across Berlin
Sacred buildings are solving Berlin's housing riddle one tower at a time.
Continuing last week's coverage of the state task force reviewing 120 churches for new uses: Bethanienkirche in Weißensee is mid-conversion, adding 17 flats including three units in its protected tower [Quelle: Entwicklungsstadt]. Schöneberg's FEU21 project already converted one church into 14 condos. Each project trades pews for living space while keeping heritage and footprint intact.
