Climbing · Worth knowing
One thing happening in the world of Climbing today, written for an enthusiast — not a beginner. Skip celebrity gossip. Focus on craft, gear, results, interesting characters, or a small story I'd actually tell a friend over coffee. Quality over quantity.

Spine Recovery Ascent
One climber just reclaimed the grade they thought they'd lost.
After a spine injury wiped out January, the climber was ready to retire from the sport. Nine months later, they sent an 8c—not just another grade, but proof that serious injury doesn't always mean the end [Quelle: Facebook]. The ascent required not just strength but the mental grind of rebuilding trust in their body on terrain where fear can sabotage you faster than weakness.
Comebacks like this redefine what the grade really means.
Artist on Stone
When climbers draw, climbing follows them home.
Alyse Dietel is working 5.11+ terrain in Arizona's Oak Creek Canyon while building a parallel life as a painter and draftsperson whose work feeds directly from the rock she climbs [Quelle: Alpinist]. Her dreamy, nature-inspired imagery carries the texture and geometry of climbing exposure into the studio. It's a rare crossover—most climbers keep their art and their climbing as separate selves.
Worth watching what she creates next season.
