Three spots remain open in both the Open and Women's fields for the 2027 FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship, to be filled through qualification tournaments in late 2026 and early 2027. Freestyle Friday Championship Part 2 runs from October through December 2026 with a knockout stage in mid-December, while Online Qualifiers in November 2026 and January 2027 will each award one spot per field through Swiss-system tournaments followed by 16-player knockouts. Five players have already qualified in each field: Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Vincent Keymer, and Pranav Venkatesh in the Open; Bibisara Assaubayeva, Harika Dronavalli, Alua Nurman, Dinara Wagner, and Anna Muzychuk in the Women's field, with the championship itself scheduled for February 2027 in Weissenhaus, Germany.
