Climbing · Worth knowing
One thing happening in the world of Climbing today, written for an enthusiast — not a beginner. Skip celebrity gossip. Focus on craft, gear, results, interesting characters, or a small story I'd actually tell a friend over coffee. Quality over quantity.

Santiago World Series
The climbing elite converges on Santiago this weekend.
World Climbing Series stages its lead and speed rounds in Chile, with Ukrainian speed climber Polina Khalkevych hunting the overall speed title in her breakthrough senior season [Quelle: World Climbing]. Australian competitors Oceana and Campbell will represent the southern circuit [Quelle: Sport Climbing Victoria]. Watch whether Khalkevych's consistency translates to the podium against the season's established names.
Boulder Harvest Redpoint
Tomorrow, Iowa climbs for community cash.
Climb Iowa hosts Boulder Harvest, an annual redpoint competition on Saturday, October 24, with roughly ten problems per division designed to be accessible without sacrificing intensity [Quelle: Climb Iowa]. Top five finalists in Men's and Women's Open divisions compete for $1,500 total purse, but the format prioritizes beta-sharing and collective support over podium pressure. These local events shape how climbers think about climbing—as shared process rather than solitary grind.
Small competitions often breed the next generation's habits.
